With the release of the new Jurassic World movie: Rebirth. I have decided to start a short series where each week I shall go through and rate one of the movies of the Jurassic Park/World franchise. At the end of the series I shall list all of the movies based on my rating of reach. This week I will present to you my rating system that each of my reviews shall use.
For my rating system I have decided on using a fifty point scale so that in the end we can rate the movie out of five stars. My system is as follows:
Movie Rating System (MRS) 50 points
(15 Points) Plot
First up is the plot. I will rate this off of two factors. How well does the movie follow the three Ps of plot (promise, progress, payoff), and based on the presence of any plot holes.
(15 Points) Characters
The second highest weighted category is Characters. How well written are each of these characters stories. Do they do things that makes sense for them, is there anything that makes them stand out?
(10 Points) Acting
Then we come to how well the cast acts. Do they portray their characters well, are their emotions believable?
(10 Points) Special/Practical Effects
These movies whether its the animatronics of the original films or the CGI of the newest films, these movies are known for their special/practical effects. This category rates the movie based on how believable the effects for that movie is.
(5 Points) Music
Finally we come to the least weighted of the categories, music. How well does the music serve the scenes, and their moods? Are the musical numbers good, do they sound impressive and are they memorable?
Then we come to my final thoughts where I give my overall thoughts and final rating of the movie. I look forward to rating Stephen Spielberg's original Jurassic Park next week! Until next week dear Readers.
